Awareness of Organ Retention The group is very concerned that there are still people who have lost a child who may not be aware that the issue of organ retention may affect them. Many people still think that it is only children who died in Alder Hey who are included, when children who died in other hospitals in the North West whose organs have been sent to Alder Hey and kept. Although we do not want to distress people who may choose not to enquire, if people want to contribute to the Independent Inquiry they need to make contact soon. We have sent a press release out to local papers, daily and weekly, and local radio stations across the north west. If you have not seen it in your local paper you might want to approach them direct to see if they would run the story. For a copy of the press release, or a list of where it has gone to, please contact the office (listed at the top of the page). For more information on dealing with the press, please speak to Ed Bradley, the group's press officer, via the office.
When the Inquiry is complete then the group may reconsider the need to be part of a national group. NACOR have been advised of this. Anything that you may see in the media that links us to NACOR is, therefore, wrong.
