What is happening at the hospital now?

One of the Trust's Directors,Therese Harvey, is currently seconded to deal with the issues arising from the retention of organs.

The team of staff involved in supporting parents have also recently been joined by a full-time Social Worker, Sue McKenzie. Sue has replaced Liz and Eric Cooper who are currently on an extended holiday.

The Helpline continues to be fully staffed from 9.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday. Calls in the evenings and weekends are dealt with by the Hospital's Patient Services Team. Any parents who require information or additional support should not hesitate to contact the Alder Hey Helpline on 0151 252 5216.


 

PITY II (Parents who have Interred Their Young Twice) is the parents' support group set up in the wake of the organ retention scandal
at Alder Hey Hospital (Liverpool, UK). It aims to provide self help support and advice to affected families.
