PITY II's Response to Human Tissues Bill: 04/12/03

We welcome the publication of the new human tissue bill and that we pay tribute to all of the families who have worked so hard to achieve this.

We know that over the next few months, work will still need to be done in order to make sure that the bill is passed through parliament without too many amendments; of course, the PITY II team promises to continue to monitor its passage.

Although we know that this bill cannot change what has happened to our families, we feel that it is a legacy for them.We thank parents for their continuing support.

PITY II (Parents who have Interred Their Young Twice) is the parents' support group set up in the wake of the organ retention scandal
at Alder Hey Hospital (Liverpool, UK). It aims to provide self help support and advice to affected families.
