![]() WELCOME TO THE DE-LAYNE SCHOOL OF DANCE LEEDS AND MORLEY Principal: Elaine Storey Examiner, Lecturer and Adjudicator. Fellow & Examiner International Dance Teachers' Association,Registred Royal Academy Teacher, Choreographer. The Delayne School of Dance was founded in 1967, with the aim to provide dance education to any child interested regardless of background. The school caters for children from 3 yrs to Adults (Teaching Diplomas),with the intention of promoting dance through enjoyment by means of various examinations, performing in dancing competitions and the school's bi-annual shows. Each pupil is allowed to develop at their own pace. Pupils with potential are encouraged to pursue their careers in dance and many former students have worked in cabaret, stage, screen and television. Some students are now qualified teachers of dance both in the state and private sectors. All pupils are encouraged to develop 'life skills' by entering local dance festivals and auditioning for Christmas pantomimes/professional engagements that are deemed suitable and not counterproductive to academic/vocational studies. Parental encouragement and committment is expected with any competitive/show work undertaken. However, it is not all hard work, we do have fun as well, especially on our school outings. Contained in this website you will find details of the classes we provide and details of how to get in touch. We hope to see you soon.... Problems with the website? |
