MR SPIDER

MR SPIDER BIOG (IN BRIEF)

Paul Reoch - Drummer:
Paul has been in bands since the age of 17 when he sang for Savage Knight, a carnoustie/Monifieth covers band playing a variety of music from Status Quo to the Sex Pistols! Paul started playing drums for Carnoustie band Cyphre and discovered the delights of playing Motorhead and Hawkwind then moved on to a Heavy Metal outfit called Insane. Just before before joining Mr Spider four years ago he was a promonent member of the popular three piece outfit called the Joe Pesci Big Band.

Michele Mclaren - Vocals
Michele has been involved with session work in recording studios and has written lyrics for various local Dundee bands and a major participant in the, to this day unreleased, psychedelic folk-rock landmark album in the form of "Away Wi' The Fairies". However Mr Spider is her first gigging band. Her influences are Deep Purple, Anika Moa and Eric Clapton.

Mike Fenton - Bass
Mike Fenton has been a Bass player since school days (back when electricity was first invented), his first major band role was in a well known local blues band called The Little Wolves. After a short break he co-founded the band Blues Injection, mainly playing blues and boogie. After a few years he joined Wolftrain, another local blues band. And after another break from music he joined Hush, a successful rock/blues covers band.

John (Fox) - Guitar
John's first band was a blues band called Blues Injection back in 1989, playing a wide range of chicago blues style songs including the bands' own material. Before forming Mr Spider he played in a rock band called Backshift for a good number of years, it was there that he learnt to diversify musically and combine the rock sounds with the blues and the blues with the rock. John also builds and modifies guitar amplifiers, the amp that he uses on stage is one he built himself.

In 2005 Mr Spider hit the live Dundee scene as a covers band playing sets that encompassed seventies rock and classic blues/blues-rock tracks. As things progressed, more original songs were arittenand arranged and slowly introduced into the live set. Forward to 2007 and the band has amassed enough quality tracks to release their debut album, "Web Of Lies", all original material recorded in John's studio. Recent gigs have seen the band play their trademark two hour sets that encompass all three elements of their repertoire, as well as well received gigs for specialist Dundee rock promotor, Mermaid Rock Promotions, where they played purely seventies rock classics with a couple of their originals added. With a debut CD now available, Mr Spider's web is most definitely being woven across the blues/rock spectrum and beyond.
