INKEYS/PSYTRAX - LATEST NEWS............
FEB 2007:
Psytrax 2 did come out and, despite all the exclusive content on the issue, sold nothing like as fast or as many as we thought it would. So, with the total apathy on behalf of the people who I thought would support it at just £1.99 for all that was on it, I decided to jack it in. I lose money on each issue anyway, but it's a labour of love. Even so, the time taken to do one simply didn't merit a third, so the project got shelved.
Inkeys 19, however, fared better, indicating a marked attitude difference towards it from electronic music fans as compared with psych fans, so I decided to keep this going. Sadly, the next proposed issue coincided with my leaving CD Services (a move that was forced rather than requested - but which did me a lot of favours in the end, so all ended well!!), so I put this project on ice.
As of now, there will be an Inkeys 20 - but when that is, I can't say, but just watch the skies and you'll find out.
Psytrax 2 is now nearing completion. This time around there are four tracks, exclusive to Psytrax 2, from Spacehead ft new synths player Floyd (making 2 ex-Krel members as 50% of the band), Space Mirrors, Starfield (an exclusive cut from the unreleased second album) and Nifty Eagu and The Glo-Pilots (a stunning remix of a track off the second album). In addition there are album tracks from Penance, Spirits Burning, Church Of Hed, Saz and many more - full details on the Psytrax page very soon.
Both Psytrax issue 1 and Inkeys 19 are now available at all the usual retailers including Aural innovations, USA, CD Services, Scotland, Synth Music Direct, England as well as via the Dead Earnest site, and available on a wholesale basis to retailers from Clear Spot, Netherlands and Bertus, Netherlands.
Work is now nearly completed for the next issue of Inkeys, No 19, and the launch of a brand new, Inkeys-related project, called Psytrax, only this one devoted to space-rock and psychedelia. Expect a release date for Psytrax around end of February, and Inkeys in mid-March, available from all the usual retailers, and more.
