Hi there! You are looking at Speed's page on the web, welcome

P & T state-
ment.

In the early days the term NRG was used-during the news particularly, apparently it stood for Nova Radio Group!
I remember the Friday night this station closed, and after a couple of hours of silence and then alot of noise the hits returned but we realised before much more time had passed that this was the station next on the dial who had, it turned out, bought the equipment. I remember having the station on in my bedsit until I left to go to somebody in an apartment, that was around 5.30, there I remember having the station on until around seven, spending the rest of the time there in the tv room, the girl in my life said she would watch the Late Late Show. Putting on the radio when I came back to my flat I was surprised to hear silence and in the time coming up to eleven o'clock, one began to hear intermittant and distorted music which continued until it stabilised around 11.30 and became pleasant again except it wasn't any longer the station we had known for the previous year and a half(I wonder what was on the Late Late Show that night 11/3/88)
Here is the WRQX Washington connection.
