Holyhead English Methodist Church shares premises with the Holyhead Welsh Methodist Church. The English congregation had, some years ago, to move from their decaying building elsewhere in the town. Our Welsh friends very kindly agreed to share their building with us and it remains a friendly partnership.
The building suffered bomb damage during the second world war and had to be rebuilt in part. Eventually, it was clear that it had become too large for its purpose and the church sold the actual chapel to be converted into flats. Visitors will see from the front of the building that what is now flats was originally a chapel. What was the sunday school part of the property was then refurbished into a very pleasant and comfortable worship area with individual seats and carpeted floor. On the lower level there is a further room set out for meetings or worship if required.
Visitors to Anglesey who are staying in the area around Holyhead will be most welcome to join us in worship any Sunday. You are assured of a warm welcome. Disabled visitors are catered for with a stair lift on the short staircase up to the worship area.
Friday Fellowship
The Friday Fellowship meets fortnightly at 7.00pm and visitors and friends are most welcome. We organise speakers, quizzes, outings etc, all of which have variety and fun. Ask for Bernice Collins to get more information
