BIOGRAFIA:

Attore richiestissimo a Hollywood. Nasce a New York nel '65, figlio degli attori Anne Meara e Jerry Stiller ed è quindi chiaro da dove gli sia venuta la passione per il cinema.
Dopo aver abbandonato nell'83 gli studi alla UCLA, decide di tornare a New York dove inizia la sua carriera di interprete a Broadway in "House of Blue Leaves"; nella pièce riesce a convincere gli altri interpreti a partecipare ad un cortometraggio comico "The Hustler of money", la sua prima vera esperienza di regia. Il corto venne mandato in onda al "Saturday night live" ed ebbe tale successo che Ben Stiller fu chiamato a lavorare come interprete ed apprendista autore per la serie comica della NBC.
Nel '92 ha creato il "Ben Stiller show" per la rete televisiva MTV, poi due anni dopo ha diretto e interpretato per il grande schermo "Giovani, carini e disoccupati" e lo stesso ha fatto nel '96 con "Il rompiscatole", film con Jim Carrey e Matthew Broderick.
IL successo maggiore lo ottiene però due anni dopo grazie ai fratelli Farrelly che lo scelgono per il ruolo dello sfortunato Ted Stroehmann in "Tutti pazzi per Mary" film che ha ottenuto un successo enorme. Nel '99 è nel cast di "Mystery Men" e nella vita privata si lega all'attrice Christine Taylor che poi sposa l'anno successivo. In quest'ultimo anno è il protagonista di 4 film, tra cui spicca senz'altro la commedia "Tentazioni d'amore" diretta e interpretata da Edward Norton.
Si sa pochissimo del suo privato se non che è stato fidanzato per diversi anni con l'attrice Jeanne Tripplehorn.
