Made by hand, the Ericson logo glasses are manufactured from old wine bottles. The top of the bottle is cut off by hand and discarded. What remains is then sanded with two different grits to give a smooth, beveled lip. There are usually some small imperfections on the lip of the glasses; this is, after all, a totally "hands on" technique, and wine bottles do not give up in a uniform way. Most, but not all, have indented bottoms. The logo is deeply sand blasted into the surface of the glass, and the logo itself is 1.75 inches tall.

The glasses themselves come from either Bordeaux bottles or Burgundy bottles. The difference in the style of the bottles is that the Bordeaux bottles have a straight side almost up to the neck. The Burgundy bottles are straight for about 5-1/2 inches from the bottom and then begin to taper to the neck. Most, but not all, Burgundy bottles are an amber shade. Bordeaux bottles come in various colors: clear, clear with a slight aqua tint, olive, green (pictured) and gray.

The glasses come in two stock sizes: 4-1/4" and 5-1/8". The 4-1/4" glasses made from Bordeaux bottles have a capacity of about 10 ounces. The same size glasses made from Burgundy bottles have about a 12 ounce capacity. In the 5-1/8 size, the glasses made from Bordeaux bottles can hold about 13 ounces and the glasses which come Burgundy bottles can hold about 15 ounces.

Because these glasses are made for Ericson owners, former owners and just plain fans of the boat, they all carry the Ericson logo. If you want the generic, logoless brand, you can get them for $5 each, plus shipping.

It is also possible to etch the name of a particular boat underneath the Ericson logo. That's a custom job and I'd be happy to discuss, via e-mail, what that entails, what it will cost and how long it will take to get the finished product to the buyer. Four weeks after payment is a general time estimate.

At this moment, I am able to sell the glasses with the Ericson logo on them for $7.50 each. The price is the same for all sizes, styles and colors of glasses available. You can order the glasses any way you want. All one color. All different colors. Some one size and some another. The choice is yours. Shipping is extra--about $10 east of the Mississippi and $15 west of the Big Muddy.
