Will NaemuraThe first three photos are of Will's number one aircraft taken about half an hour before his record setting flight. Perhaps being from Portland helped because the overcast sky, temperature hovering around 700F height, and humidity somewhat greater than normal for El Monte (the town adjacent to the Narrows) seemed to agree with him. The last photo of preflight includes John Newton, a five-time world championship F2A team member who got the needle-and-release duty for well ove half the flights. More pictures below |
