1964

Notes :
The captions are my translations from the French.
The IOR 2.5 cc diesel is a copy of the German Webra Mach I. It was made in
Romania by I.O.R. a state run optical equipment manufacturer. The
initials are (approximately) "Industria Optica Romania"
These record flights in Eastern Europe were usually chased by a state aero
club aircraft. The chase aircraft verified the altitude and, possibly,
the time aloft.
Steffan Purice also competed in C/L speed. He and his wife Elvira were
both contestants at the C/L world champs at Budaors, Hungary. After the
record setting flight noted in the drawing above, Purice set the existing
altitude and duration record for helicopters in 1963 and 1965.
