Spike was lying on her bed, reading. She had let him come to her room to get some rest, since it was less noisy than in the basement. The remaining SIT’s had been training there most of the day. Now, most of them were sleeping, and Buffy, who had been dreaming to have her room back to herself, was crushed to realize it was actually the case. But at what price…Molly and Rona’s stuff were gathered in a corner. Rona would find them back in a few days. But Molly… Buffy sighed. "Are you alright, pet?" Spike asked. She put a brave smile on. "Not really. But I’ll be fine. Xander was doing better today." "The Preacher will pay, Buffy. I’ll take care of it." He smile became tenderer. "I know you will. What are you reading?" He looked at the cover of the comic he was holding. "Hmm…Buzz LightYear, Space Ranger." She chuckled. "Where did you find that?" "I think it belongs to the boy." He resumed reading, and Buffy watched him. In her messy life, that man, reading comic book on her bed, was the only thing that made sense. "Spike?" "Slayer?" "I love you." Buzz LightYear and Star Command suddenly lost all interest to Spike. Slowly, watching the light of his life, he put the book down and got up. She welcomed him in her arms with a loving smile. They hugged for a moment, taking comfort in each other’s presence and love. Getting re-acquainted with the scent and the touch. He stroked her hair gently. "You’re supposed to tell me you love me too," she said with an unsure smile. Spike smiled, caressed her cheek with his knuckles. "I love you Buffy." "Forever?" He grinned. "To Infinity and Beyond."
