With this issue we introduce five new authors to the Dreams & Visions team: Melinda Selmys from Canada, and four American authors, Katherine Bolger Hyde, Anden Sharp, Patricia A. Peirson and Joseph Romano. Please welcome them with an open mind.
Cover art for this issue comes from Mexico. The original painting, which we dubbed "Stairway to Heaven," was purchased in a craft market in Cozumel at the pier where the giant cruise ships park for the day. The work was created literally before our eyes on a masonite board using aerosol spray paint and quick-dried with a propane blowtorch—instant art for tourists looking for instant gratification.
Sadly, we returned to Cozumel the next season to find the area in ruins after a hurricane. All that was left of the huge cement pier was a few bits of twisted metal poking above the waves. The sandy beaches had been scoured away to bedrock, and the craft market destroyed.
There is perhaps a lesson for all of us in this, not just the hurricane victims. Life is short and our position tenuous. Whatever you do with the gifts you have from God, do it with all your heart.
God bless you in your personal service.
