The home was very beautifully decorated with huge wedding bells with gold and white trimmings. Miss Tew was presented with a case of flat silver from the entire staff, and was also given very numerous miscellaneous gifts from the girls, including a Moorcroft breakfast set. Miss Tew is to be married in the middle of September.

The occasion was to mark her 85th birthday. During dinner a toast was proposed by her eldest son, Douglas, and was replied to by Mrs. Tew in her inimitably bright and witty way. After dinner, Mrs. Tew's guests returned to her home on Edgewood Ave., where she entertained them at bridge. Among the guests were Mrs. John Wainwright of Hamilton, Mrs. Tew's sister, Mr. and Mrs. William Rust-Deye, Mr. and Mrs. Mark McLeod. Hamilton: Mr. and Mrs. Ward Mayor, Mrs. Alex Rowan, Misses Edith, Daisie, Marie and Rita Tew.
