Trixie: Black Lory...

I am so glad you came to visit my webpage. My
name is Trixie and I am a Black Lory and my moms
best girl. She don't think so but I am. My hatch date
was May 19, 2000. I will be 2 years old in a few weeks.
For the first 17 months of my life I lived in 4 different
pet shops. Then one day in the summer of 2001 my mom
to be came to the store and saw me. She didn't buy me but
she spent a lot of time talking to me, she knew I liked her.
Nobody told her I had been in pet shops for so long. She
kept thinking about me and wondering if I was still there.
Then on October 26th, 2001 she came back to the store
to see if I had found a mommy or daddy. I was still there
waiting for someone to come and take me home. This time
my mom found out I had been in shops for 17 months and
she also saw that someone had given me a very bad wing
clip. Well she paid the pet shop for me right away and
got a big cage and lots of toys for me and then she left.
I didn't know she had to take the cage home first and set
the cage up for me and then take me to see the vet.
The next day, Saturday she came back and got me. Boy
it was close, the store was closing in 10 minutes when she
got there. Now I have a home and big cage and toys and
I don't have to keep moving to other pet shops. I am giving
my mom a really hard time about eating foods and only
want to drink my nectar. I love to take baths and mom
gives me a big dish to for my bath. I don't like it very much
when my mom cleans my cage, she takes my newspapers
away. She gives me more but I want all the paper in the
house. I hold onto moms collar real tight and then she can't
get me back into my cage. I will bite her if she tries. I am
learning to talk and say night, night and go night night. I
say that a lot now. I love to play in the bottom of my cage.
I don't like to go night, night, I just like to say it. Mom says
she never sees me sleep. I am learning to dance and soon
I will be able to dance better than my brother, that Caique
Mango. He dances and quacks like a duck. How silly
can a caique get.
Mom is going to put pictures on my page so you can see
me. I am not all black, I have a very pretty tail. My mom likes
crows so she likes it that I am a Black Lory.
My mom named me Trixie because she said I have more
tricks up my feathers then you can count.
