MRS. W. H. BROWN ILL BUT ONE DAY
Former Resident of Brownsville Passes Away Unexpectedly at Her Home in St. Thomas
Mrs. Marianne Lish Brown, a woman highly esteemed by all who knew her, passed away unexpectedly last evening
at the family residence, No. 55 Stanley street, after a brief illness of but one day from heart
trouble.  Mrs. Brown, who was in her 76th year, was a native of Kilmarnock, Scotland, but at the
age of 14 years came to Canada.  She resided at Brownsville until 14 years ago.  Her
husband, the late Walter H. Brown, died here about eleven months ago.
The deceased is survived by three sons and two daughters, viz.: Mrs. (Rev.) S. A. Huffman (Note: s/b
Hoffman),, Coleta, Ill.; Mrs. Mary E. Sanborn, city; Miss Louise Brown, of
J. H Hopkins city; Rev. G. B. Brown, of Beamsville and S. W. Brown (Note: s/b I.
W. Brown), of Rochelle Ill.  Mrs. Brown's brothers and sisters
all predeceased her.  She was a valued member of the First Methodist church, and was much respected.
The remains will be taken to the Brownsville cemetery for interment on the M. C. R. mail train Saturday
afternoon.  Service will be held here at 10 o'clock.

THE LATE MRS. BROWN
The remains of the late Mrs. Walter H. Brown were taken to Brownsville on Saturday afternoon on the M. C. R., and
thence to Delmer cemetery.  Services were held at the house by Rev. Alfred Brown, of the First
Methodist church, and Rev. Dr. Gundy.  Two beautiful solos were sung by Miss Winnie Graham.
  The floral offerings were numerous and lovely.  On arrival at Brownsville the remains were met
by Rev. C. C. Kerr, the pastor there, and a number of relatives and friends of the deceased.  The
bearers were J. Fulton, W. H. Cook, J. Corbett, J. Hopkins, C. Downing and
T. R. Wood.  Among those accompanying the remains from here were W. H., J. H. and A. J.
Gray, Robert McLaughlin, J. Hopkins, Thomas Gray, and P. R. Williams.
