A. L. Brown of Leamington, in rummaging among the papers of the late George Lish, brother of Mr. Brown's
grandmother, found an interesting relic.
It is a plan of the first ever locomotive that ever ran in Scotland.
Mr. Lish, the maker of the plan, and granduncle of Mr. Brown, had been in his day, like his father before
him, a very eminent railway and civil engineer in Scotland.
The family however, came to Canada in 1847 and finally settled in Dereham township.
Mr. Lish died last January at his residence in Brownsville.
