The death occurred this morning at the family residence, No. 55 Stanley street, of a well-known and highly respected resident in the person of Walter H. Brown, after a lingering illness from paralysis.  Mr. Brown, who was 75 years of age, was born at Payne's Mills, being the fourth son of the late Brinton P. Brown, of Brownsville.  Mr. Brown resided at Brownsville for many years, being engaged in farming and latterly in the grain business.  For the past ten years he had lived in St. Thomas. 
The deceased is survived by a widow, and two sons and three daughters, namely, Rev. G. B. Brown, of Bloomsburg; I. W. Brown, of Rochelle, Ill.; Mrs. S. A. Huffman (Note: spelling should be 'Hoffman'), of Cotela, Ill.; and Mrs. Mary E. Sandborn (Note: spelling should be 'Sanborn'), and Miss Louise Brown, at home.  E. B. Brown and B. M. Brown of Brownsville, are brothers, and Mrs. M. A. Lane, of this city, is a sister.
Mr. Brown was a staunch reformer.  In religion he was a Methodist, being a member of the First Methodist church.  He was also a member of the Masonic lodge at Tillsonburg.
A funeral service will be held at the family residence this evening at 7:30, and the remains will be taken on No. 32 M. C. R. express tomorrow to Brownsville for interment.

  St. Thomas, March 15. - The death took place this morning of an old and respected resident of the city in the person of Mr. Walter H. Brown.  The deceased gentleman, who was in the 75th year of his age, had been ill a year from the effects of paralysis.  He was born at Payne's Mills, being a son of the late Brinton P. Brown, of Brownsville.  Besides a wife, he leaves two sons, Rev. G. B. Brown, of Bloomsburg, Ont., and Mr. I. W. Brown, of Rochelle, Ill., and three daughters, Mrs. S. A. Hoffman of Coleta, Ill., Mrs. Mary E. Sanborn and Miss Louise, at home.  The deceased was a member of the Tillsonburg Masonic lodge.  He was a reformer in politics.  He was a farmer and afterwards engaged in the grain business, coming to the city from Brownsville about 10 years ago.   Mr. E. B. Brown, and B. M. Brown, of Brownsville, are brothers, and Mrs. M. A. Lane, of this city, is a sister.
  The funeral took place on Saturday, the interment being made at
Delmer.  The services were conducted by the Rev. J. J. Kerr.
  The pallbearers were:  J. Corbett, C. D. Downing,
J. H. Hopkins, J. Fulton, A. Fulton and T. Wood.
  The relatives accompanying the remains were:  Miss Louise Brown, Mrs. Sanford, Mrs. Wm. Lane and W. H. Gray.  There were also present:  Mr. Evan Brown, Buffalo, Rev. Geo. Brown, Bloomsburg, and C. B. Brown, Woodstock.
