Elder Isaac Sanborn, whose death occurred Saturday, was born in the State of Pennsylvania, December 1823, where he lived until about the age of 21.  With his parents, he removed to the state of Indiana and later, to Wisconsin, the family being one of the first to settle in that state.  He carried on the business of farming for a number of years, finally giving that up to engage in the work of preaching.  He was ordained for that work in August 1858 by Elders James White and W. S. Ingraham, of the Seventh Day Adventist denomination, since which time he has taken a very active part in spreading the third Angel's Message, as found in the Book of Revelation.  In this connection he has traveled and labored in 19 states of the Union and during the past seven years, in the Province of Ontario.  He has made his home in this city during that time.
Elder Sanborn is survived by one sister, residing in the state of Iowa, and his widow, to whom he was married in December 1895 in the state of Wisconsin.  Mrs. Sanborn was formerly Miss Mary E. Brown, sister of Miss Louise Brown, of this city.
The funeral of the late Elder Isaac Sanborn was held Monday afternoon from the home of Miss Brown, Stanley street to St. Thomas Cemetery.  Elder A. J. Breed, of Washington, a personal friend of the deceased conducted the services assisted by Rev. H. S. Dougall, pastor of the First Methodist Church.  The pall bearers were:  R. A. Heard, Frank Hill, J. H. Hopkins, W. J. Pincombe, Arthur Gray and John Gray.  The funeral was private.
