New information On The Internet! Newsletters ~ Educational and those with that aren't but do have useful educational informationThe internet is continually growing by leaps and bounds. So much new material appears daily. How does a busy teacher keep up with the Internet and still maintain a normal life? You could spend hours searching or you could subscribe to services put out by others who spend time looking. Here are my favorites which all have a place where you can subscribe:
SOS: Help for Busy Teachers/Kathy Schrock. This is a weekly site related to education. It has included a new search engine, a list of ideas for the month, thematic units, a place to find publishers.MacLinks has created the following page to shorten your surfing. The new page illustrates the newsletter that Kathy puts out weekly at: http://ca.geocities.com/maclizzard@rogers.com/nwslet.html
This page is meant to assist you, 'THE BUSY TEACHER', by shortening your surfing time. All the info you will need { and much more} is on Kathy's site.
The Educators Network Newsletter Proudly Serving Professional Educators. This is weekly also with links to various new or updated education sites. This site's home or index page is located at:
http://www.theeducatorsnetwork.com/main/index.htm
- http://www.kn.pacbell.com/wired/bluewebn
Similarly is Blue Web'n from Pac Bell. The base site of this one also has an extensive archives of past sites that you can chose from the chart on the opening page. It is divided by content area and type of activity.
When I first started using Internet, I found that Yahoo had a site where they listed some of the new material. This site changes every day. It has a section for education; however the section marked "Arts@ contains literature and history. This one has no place to subscribe. Just put it in the Favorites list and check back often.

Finding Teacher Helpers ~ On The Internet! This edition addresses the place to find teacher helpers on the Internet. It would be nice if it were a source that would correct papers or watch the students while you stepped out for a moment to regain your sanity. Unfortunately I've yet to find those.
The teacher helpers mentioned here are certificate makers, educational fonts, crossword puzzle makers, etc. All of these types of programs can be purchased in stand-alone software programs. But, what if you need something right now. Turn to the Internet and turn on your printer. Not all sites will do all things so check each to find the one that best fits your needs.

This site is trying to sell their product but it does have a partial on-line version.

Something special to share -----
"Ode to Drivers"
http://kathyschrock.net/ode...as a fitting end to the school year, I thought I would share this poem, written by a former student as a retirement present for a teacher in our district; it makes one stop and think about the lasting impact we have on our students.
Have a wonderful summer vacation! See you in September!
