Topic: Information on Resources and Aids for WebTv.
Q. ---> Where can I find information about WebTV?
A. ---> MacLinks would like to thank Margaret Davis of Nevada for the following links focusing on information using the ever so popular WebTv. As there is never enough information for the enthusiastic researcher, Margaret has consented to continue updating this page as new material is produced.
E~Mail Messages
- SENDING A MESSAGE TO MORE THAN ONE PERSON
You can send a single message to as many people as you like all at once. There are two ways to do it;
- If you type addresses in the TO: line, use a comma between addresses, like this: rover@webtv.net, bowser@aol.com
- If you use your ADDRESS book, just put a check mark next to each address you want and then choose CONTINUE.
To try it yourself, choose the link to your MAIL LIST. Then choose WRITE, and try addressing a message to two or more people.
You can also copy or "cc" people on an e-mail message----just as you
might send a carbon copy of a letter.
REPLYING TO A MESSAGE
When you want to answer an e-mail message, choose REPLY. A blank
message will appear on the screen, already addressed to the person
you're replying to. If you receive a message from more than one person,
you can use REPLY ALL to address your replies to the whole group
automatically.
In any reply, it's a good idea to include all or part of the origiinal
message, to make sure it's clear what you're responding to.
VIEWING AND SAVING MESSAGES YOU'VE SENT OR DISCARDED
You can view and save copies of messages you've sent. And if you discard
a message and then change your mind, don't worry-----you can retrieve it
within one week after you discard it.
Before you can view messages you've discarded, you need to turn on the
STORAGE setting in MAIL to create a place to keep them. Once you've
changed the setting, WebTV will automatically hold a copy of each
message you send or discard for one week. If you want you can save any
message before it is permanently erased.
PERSONALIZING YOUR E-MAIL MESSAGES
You can automatically add a few lines of texr---called a SIGNATURE---to
the end of each message that you send. People often include their name
and address, a quotation, or a joke in their signatures.
Web Pages
- SAVING A WEB PAGE
When you find a Web site you might want to visit again, you can save it as a favorite. Then, whenever you want to go back to the site, you won't have to search for it or type it's address again.
To visit a page you've saved as a favorite, just choose FAVORITES or WEB HOME or FAVS on your keyboard.
