| Family History: | MacNamara is another surname that disappeared from Caplin Bay in the 1860s. It is not found in any of the later documents in the Ferryland area, except in reference to a St. John's MacNamara who married Annie Carew from Shores Cove, Cape Broyle. It is not known if the Mary McNamara who was married to Michael Rossiter was from Caplin Bay. Michael Rossiter, born about 1809, is listed at Caplin Bay in the voter's list up to 1859 but he appears to have moved to the Fermeuse/Renews area after that date. |
