Shawville defeats Fitzroy Harbour

 

Fitzroy Harbour West Carleton Electric men's fastball team was on the wrong end of a 7-0 decision against the first place team in the Upper Ottawa Valley Men's Fastball League, Shawville Hursty's Bar, on June 17th.

 

Shawville's Mark Wright threw a 3-hitter.  Pitcher Barry Storie, first baseman Neil Murphy and third baseman Shawn Rebertz had the hits for WC Electric who couldn't find a way to score a run against the hard throwing right-hander.  Shawville scored two in the third, three in the fourth on a Jamie Lemay home run, and two more in the fifth to put the game out of reach.

 

The team is pleased to announce more sponsors that have joined West Carleton Electric in supporting the team, including McCann’s Garage (Pakenham), Ward 5 Councillor Dwight Eastman, Telus, Arnprior Jr. B Packers hockey team, and Lorne Montgomery Construction (Carp).

 

Next action for the team is a home game against Blackburn Hamlet on Friday June 27th at 7:30 at Kinburn.  The team will also travel up to Campbell's Bay for the UOVMFL Showcase evening on June 30th and to the Canada Day tournament in Pembroke.
