The Stittsville 56ers downed the Manotick Lomor Printers by score of 9-3 on Tuesday night. The 56ers scored 5 runs (1 earned) in the first inning and never looked back from there. A two out, two RBI double off the bat of Scott Herriot was the key hit in the Stittsville attack which was greatly aided by a couple of Manotick errors. Stittsville score two more in both the fifth and sixth innings, highlighted by a Dan Bradley two run homerun. 56er third baseman, John Craig had three hits in 4 trips to the plate, and was just a HR shy of hitting for the cycle.

Despite being down early, the Manotick side showed great resolve. A Trevor Power two run blast in the third inning put the Printers on the board cutting the 56er lead to three. In the top half of the fourth, Donny Cox  led off with a triple and scored on a Tim Hodgins single.  Stittsville hurler, Darren Featherstone, looked to be in trouble when Lindsey Medinski singled to put runners on the corners for Manotick with no one out. Featherstone struck out the next three batters to eliminate the threat.

Dan Bradley took to the rubber for Stittsville in the 5th working with a 5-3 lead.  Manotick batter, Calvin Medinski (3 for 3 on the night) greeted him with a line drive triple that  eluded the diving 56er centerfielder. Medinski tried for the inside the park homerun, but was gunned down by a great relay from Stittsville shortstop Herriot. Bradley settled in after that, retiring the next 8 batters in order to collect the save.

Featherstone earned his second win in as many outings, allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out seven over 4 innings. Tony Riches takes the loss for Manotick, pitching 4 1/3, giving up 7 runs (3 earned) on 9 hits while striking out 3. Jeff Hyndman made his GOFL pitching debut in relief of Riches. Hyndman closed out the game pitching the final 1 2/3 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits.
