A hot and muggy night in Carp and the long ball ruled the day as WC Electric defeated Carp I4C Victory 9-2 in a 5 inning game Monday night.

Bud Hanlon got the win, allowing one earned run on six hits in five innings work, striking out three.

Duane Bromley took the loss for the home side, allowing six runs (5 earned) on six hits.  Trevor Wood came in to finish the game, giving up the final three runs on three hits.

Carp started the scoring as Mike Money took Hanlon’s first pitch of the game deep to left for a solo HR.  Trevor Wood later drove in Brooks Paziuk to put Carp up 2-0, which was possible after some blogger in right field made an error with two out.  The first inning of this game also saw the pinch running debut of Shawn Williams who ran for an injured Tim Power.

That was it for scoring for Carp, as the Fitzroy bats came alive.

Shawn Rebertz had a solo HR in the second to make the game 2-1.

Then in the third, Troy Wilson hit a three run homer after Bud Hanlon reached on an error and Jon Daley hit a bunt single to make it 4-2 for the Electric.

In the fifth, Adam Brown led off with a double bringing up the big man, Hanlon.  Hanlon hit a line drive two run homer to make the score 6-2.  This was Big Bud’s first homer in a WC Electric uniform.  As Trevor Wood came in to finish the game, Fitzroy scored three more runs as Jon Daley singled, and advanced to second on a wild pitch and was brought in with a Troy Wilson single.  Shawn Rebertz then hit his second homerun of the night to conclude the scoring.
