Story
On Wednesday May 18, the Electric faced defending
league champions, Kanata Team Easton.
Easton, led by pitcher Dan Konkle, has been slotted as #6 in the
province in pre-season rankings of men's intermediate fastball teams. The game was a pitchers' duel, as the
final score was a 0-0 draw. Konkle
pitched seven innings for Kanata, while Fitzroy gave three pitchers (Bud
Hanlon, Brad Porter, Mark Wright) some innings as they prepared for the weekend
tournament in Kingston. Neil
Murphy paced the Electric offensively with 2 hits, including a double. The Electric's Jason Armstrong made an
incredible over the back catch in left field to rob Kanata's Kevin Chevrier of
a multiple base hit that would have driven in two runs.
