After the game, Shawn Williams, Head Coach
and General Manager of Carp felt that it was a good start for the team despite
the loss. “We hit the ball really well tonight but there were some errors
that cost us runs at the beginning of the game. But it’s only the first
game of the season and those types of things will be less frequent as we get
further into the season.” Williams added, “We’re a first year ball club
in this league and while we have some experienced ball players that have played
competitive Junior fastball, we’re still getting to know each other. I
think if people in Carp want to see some great ball, they can come out to see
us play on Monday nights starting on May 29th. I think they’ll be pleased
with the cailbre of ball.”
Carp’s next game is against local rival and a team
with a long time tradition in the area, West Carleton Hanna Electric. The
game will be played in
