Aug 13 vs. Valley “Oldtimers” 2-1 win

 

Todd Clouthier put together an excellent squad on short notice to provide the WC Electric a final tune up before provincials.  The “Oldtimers” had two former Senior pitchers (Rob Cameron and Jimmy Ryan) as well as former Junior pitcher Troy Wilson.

 

Bud Hanlon and Barry Storie both pitched well to hold the opponents to one run, which came when Troy Wilson was brought in on a Jimmy Ryan triple to right field.

 

The WC Electric manufactured both runs:  Steve Johnson was hit by a pitch (on the head!), advanced to second on a Chris Douglas sacrifice bunt, and was then brought in on a bunt by Trevor Barton that was misplayed by the “Oldtimers”.  The winning run was scored when Trevor Barton reached second on a misplayed fly ball, moved to third on a Jon Daley sacrifice bunt and scored when the Oldtimers attempted to pick him off third and the throw was errant.
