Fitzroy Harbour 4th Annual Men’s Fastball Tournament 2005

August 5-7

Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre

Hosted by West Carleton Electric Men’s Fastball Club

This season’s invitational tournament at Fitzroy Harbour to be held starting Friday August 5 with the finals being held on Sunday August 7.

Each team will be guaranteed three games with entry fee of $325.  Format is a modified double knockout.    Teams losing their first two games will participate in a consolation game with a round of beer on the line.   The winning team will receive $900 in prize money and the finalist will have their entry fee returned.

There will be an admission fee of $2/day with children 16 and under free.  Players and coaches do not have to pay, but we ask that spouses and other fans pay to help us defray the cost of running the tournament.

There will be an outdoor beer garden on site and inside our hall is also licensed.  Due to the Ontario liquor license regulations, we ask that no alcohol be consumed outside of the designated area (i.e. in the stands, parking lot, etc.).  We will also have a barbecue featuring hamburgers from the “Fitzroy Beef Farmers”.

Playing rules:

1.              Eligibility: Open to any player/pitcher.

2.              ISC Pitching rule.

3.              No tied games.  If tied after 7 innings, teams will place their last out on second base to beginning in the eighth inning (“International Rule”).  The International rule does not apply to the finals.

4.              Mercy rule:  6 run lead after 5 innings, 5 run lead after 6 innings.

5.              No time limit on games.  Please be ready to play at the schedule time so we can keep on track.

6.              Please declare all substitutions to the home plate umpire.
