The vast and open prairie. A rail line runs across one end of the table, about a third of the way along, then turns and runs parallel to the table edge. Mirroring the position of the rails on the other end of the table are a short line of hills forming a small ravine. There are a few (very few) trees scattered on the table, but the Crowsfeet have cut most of the local trees down to block the tracks. Two or three trunks are laid across the track on the curve to the parallel. View the map of the situation here if you like.

Track Clearing
The obstacles on the track are the only things barring the train. The Crowsfeet have not actually damaged the track. It will take four turns to clear the logs from the track, and will require two soldiers to do so. They can take no other action than to clear the track, no fighting is allowed.
If one of the soldiers is wounded on a turn in which he is clearing, then that turn does not count toward clearing the track. Roll 1d6. On a 1-3, the soldier will be unable to continue clearing the track and must be replaced before clearing can continue.
The engineer is ready to go as soon as he can, having been scalped once he isn't eager to repeat the experience. The train can move on the first turn following the track being cleared. On that turn it will go 1d6". On the second turn it will go 2d6".
To remount the train the soldiers must be in base to base contact with one of the cars behind the coal tender. They are able to mount only while the train is stationary or on the first turn after it starts moving.
Relief!
Initial deployment is the train and the infantry. Period. Inspector Yongestreet is aware of the situation, however, and is en route to escort the train. There is a chance he will arrive from off table starting on the third turn. Turn 3: 1-2 on 1d6; turn 4: 1-4 1d6; turn 5: arrives. Roll for arrival location: 1-2 far left, 3-4 far right, 5-6 far center. They may ride on in any formation the player desires.
