The split rail fences are made from the sundry leavings from an old rose plant I got at a Valantine's ball. They're actually cedar chips of some sort but very small. Makes a nice fence section.
Curwin's house and barn are built after the Maj General's techniques, using foamcore and pebbles.
The tabletop is just green fabric (ironed smoothish), with standard railroad trees and some pines from the Create A Mission modeling line dotted about the landscape and standing in for the forest sections. (who ever has enough trees?)
The graveyard -- with some cartoony plastic Halloween tombstones strewn around.
The fallow fields are created by the venerable method of laying down brown corderoy in the shape of a field. Okay, so it looks plowed, but there's nothing planted which should seem appropriately sinister....
