The Retreat from Shangxuanya

Scenario Outline

The forces of the Emperor, under General Da Tou Yue, attacked Xiashui and were driven off. In return a punitive raid was launched against the General's forts at Shangxuanya. The series of forts (Sweet, Salt, Bitter, Bland) guard the approaches of the river and canal system near Dingoh. The first and smallest of the forts, the Tian Fort, was breeched by stealth and surprise and fired, but was never intended to be held. The attacking forces are to retreat to an ancient stairway cut into the cliffs and from there make their way to the beach where they will be picked up by the Navy and transported to the HMS Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle to return to Xiashui.
