Kevin Dillon learned every pen stroke, every design, each color and preparation of materials from obscure medieval treatises in various languages. He read every book he could find on the known manuscripts and examined the few originals he could get access to. But it was only through costly and laborious trial and error that he uncovered the secrets of the medieval monks. Every original is created in the exacting original way: ink from oak gall and colours from crushed gems, real gold leaf and hand prepared vellum. Kevin feels that there is still a lifetime of study ahead on the techniques and history of this medieval craft.
