A group of builders, engineers and carpenters came to a great forest. They began to build. One by one, the trees became great works; of art, of craft, monuments to vision and industry; until a great and shining city stood upon the plain, around it fertile fields.
They raised great families, many shiny, pink and round babies to become strong young men and women. These they raised to be proud of the city their fathers and mothers had built and to become builders, engineers and carpenters also. So trained, the children were pushed out of their homes to go forth and build. These children could find no trees with which to build and so had no industry. They could buy no food in a land of plenty, nor find adequate housing in a kingdom of castles. They angered, but because they honored their parents, could rise up against no-one.
"Why are you angry?" asked the elders. "We have built for you a great land and given you our tools and knowledge. You need only set forth and build as we have done." The elders could not see the lack of forest for the lumber of the trees which obscured their vision.
The youth, hungry, angry, disaffected, finally set fire to the city and burned it all down.
