During the summer of 2005, the team is off to the Philippines to undertake a number of projects under the
auspices of Father Constancio Abbugao.
This year, the team will be broken up into 3 groups undertaking various projects in the northern regions of
the Philippines.
The projects include:
(1) The funding and construction of a Children's Education Centre and it's painting at St. Stephen's Mission,
Namillangan, near Santiago. The team will also assist in the setting up of a library in the Centre.
(2) The painting of 2 churches in Tabuk.
(3) The setting up of a library at St. Paul's Anglican Secondary School in Balbalasang.
(4) The planting of fruit trees in the Balbalasang area which will also help alleviate the hazards of soil erosion.
(5) Two team nurses will visit with the local health units and address the needs of the local communities.
The team will be looking for donations of:
(i)school supplies for use in several small churches children's programmes, consisting of paint brushes,
pencils. pens, coloured pencils, pencil sharpeners, rulers, coloured construction paper, dried powdered
paints, children's scissors, chalk etc.
(ii) High school and University level text books which are in good condition,(science,biology, chemistry,
physics, atlas',world history, English literature classics, etc.)
(iii) Medical supplies,(band aids, antiseptic lotions, bandages, etc.) which will be distributed to several
small medical clinics.
(iv) Canadian Tire Money to help purchase various items required by the team, which will in turn be left
with the respective community for their use.
