| 75ml| 1/4 c. butter
| 1 | 1 egg
|125ml| 1/2 c. sifted flour
|125ml| 1/2 tsp. salt
|250ml| 1 c. brown sugar
| 5ml| 1 tsp. vanilla extract
| 5ml| 1 tsp. baking powder
|125ml| 1/2 c. chopped nuts or slow cook rolled oats
Melt butter in saucepan.
Stir in brown sugar until dissolved.
Cool these ingredients and beat in egg and vanilla.
Resift flour with baking powder and salt.
Stir into butter mixture and add nuts.
Pour into greased |2L square| 8x8 inch pan lined with wax paper.
Bake at |175C| 350F degrees about 30 minutes.
DO NOT OVERBAKE! The brownies may not look done.
Cut while warm into thin bars. approx. 32 servings.
