Gastroparesis

A clinical condition characterized by reduced gastric motility associated with symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, and a sensation of epigastric fullness. Gastroparesis can be either idiopathic or secondary to diabetes or other metabolic, neurological, and infiltrative disorders involving the upper gut. The inflammatory neuropathic features of gastroparesis may be related to an underlying paraneoplastic syndrome.
