Rainforest Poster Project

The adjacent diagram is a model of how your complete project should appear. On the poster you should draw, label and color the four levels of the forest.(8pts)

Attach a picture of at least 1 animal in each layer of the forest, where it is normally found. So you should have at least 4 different animals.(8pts)

Each animal should have a typed information box listing diet, at least 1 adaptation for protecting itself against predators and 2 adaptations to it's specific niche in the Rainforest. (12pts) (Hint: some animal information may be found in the Kids Corner section of Rainforest Action Network http://www.ran.org/ran/)

Attach three example of household items that originated in the rainforest. These examples must be attached to the poster board, and actual examples--not just pictures must be obtained.(6pts)

For example, the vanilla bean was originally found in the rainforest, so if your mom bakes and has a box of vanilla essence, you could stick the box to the poster board, or the cacao nut, from which chocolate is made originates in the rainforest, so you could stick a chocolate candy wrapper to your board. You are not allowed to use the preceding examples for your poster.

Use a typed information box to tell what the things you stuck on your poster are used for(3pts)

and tell what rainforest plant they are derived from(3pts)

Use of color, neatness, creativity, grammar and clarity also count for 10pts.

Suggestion, check of each requirement for your poster as you place it on the poster board to make sure you have completed all of the requirements.
