My name is Amanda Jayne Brocklehurst, Mandy for short, and I am 13 years of age. Incase you haven't noticed, I'm about to start my third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I would've come from a long line of full-blooded witches and wizards, but my mother married a muggle, therefore making me a half-blood - something worth keeping from Cho and her gang. My favourite subject is Potions, for some odd reason, while I detest Divination, who doesn't? I love quidditch, in which I'm a huge fan of both the Holyhead Harpies and Falmouth Falcons, but I don't play for Ravenclaw as I can barely stay upright on a broom, let alone catch a quaffle!
I have two close friends, whose names are Khira-Li Schmidt and Brigitte Quirke. Khira-Li comes from Germany. I guess us three are friends because we tend not to be sheep. I've heard whispers about us being called the Weird Sisters. Honestly, just because we choose to be individuals! I guess you may be wondering what makes us three so different, yes? Well, regretfully, I'll tell you why. Khira-Li's reason is very simple: she's foreign and because she refuses to abandon me and Brigitte to become part of the 'popular' crowd. Brigitte is singled out because of her looks. Just because she has braces and thick-framed glasses! But that isn't all. She's also a muggle. I swear, the way the High and Mighty ones are acting, they're more like Slytherins! Then there's me. Big potty-mouthed little me. Let's just say, a snide comment to a long-gone ex-pop queen put me on all her follower's bad lists. Hey! How was I supposed to know that she was still a virgin, dressed like that! Honestly! Not to mention my whole dislike to the concept of 'sheep flocking'[1].
But this year, my third year at Hogwarts, was the start of the turn of a new leaf for me. This was the year I discovered one of the most horrible things in the whole entire world; the year I fell into the void of no escape. Yes ladles and germs: hormones.
End Prologue.
