Inhaling Eden

I can't explain the sky up here
except to say it exists
to a higher degree
unscarred and unhazed
by the evidence of our advancement
by our tragic disregard for perfection

I need this liberated breath
I can sacrifice some cars and chaos
to take the sweeter side
of our universal path to death
but I am most excited to reawaken
and inhale the untainted
miracle of creation
and breathe that original breath
