Caloocan City, with a combined area of 5,333.3964 hectares, is located at the northern part of the Greater Manila Area. The city is divided into two (2) parts: The Urban Portion which is bounded on the north by Malabon, on the east by Quezon City, on the south by Manila and Navotas (Manila Bay) on the west; and the Rural Portion of Caloocan bounded on the north by San Jose del Monte in Bulacan. on the east and south by Quezon City and on the west by Valenzuela.
The Urban Portion of the city known as Caloocan I has an area of 1,362.4916 hectares. While the Rural Portion known as Kalookan II which is located approximately 9 kms. north of Caloocan I has an area of 3,970.9048 hectares.
Caloocan I is generally plain, with the southermost part of Dagat-Dagatan Reclamation Area as the lowest part, which is +0.993 meters above sea level and Caloocan II which is classified as hilly, has Tala as the highest part approximately 100 meters above sea level.
