Gee... it's hard to determine. Who really saved this game. Was it Tina's
brilliant back up of firstbase on a missed throw... was it Pam's clutch
base hit in the 6th... was it Dan's ultimate grit sliding to third and stealing
home that tied the score in the 5th.
Dan Smally (Manager and Left Outfielder), saw the game slip through his fingers as Reddeway inning after inning dominated the fabulous Crater Chain Saw team. Dan kept on his team... "this has got to be your best defense ever...EVER!!! Come on now... let's go... (in the 5th). When the opportunity came, he leaped off of second and defied Reddeway's attempt to gun him down and slid into third setting up the tying run. And then in the next play with a sacrificed hit, Dan bluffed his way to home. In the fourth, Tina sprinted from catchers position to back up her first base woman on a missed throw, made the out and finished the double play.... then Pam's clutch hit in the 7th ultimately (with Dan's follow-up triple) brought Crater Chain Saw to 4-3 score at the bottom of the 7th. Kevin (team manager, Reddeway) 1st up Bottom of the 7th, popped one to Crater Chain Saw... one a way. Rhonda (Reddeway) managed another into the infield defense, two away. Then Tina (Crater Chain Saw) who rotated out from catcher to 1st base short stop proved her utility when she stopped Reddeway's final attempt to save the game. Another fabulous game for Crater Chain Saw... these men and women are tough to beat....
