The Other Chris Hardy is just one guy, a few musical instruments, a home studio and a very warped sense of amusement. Chris Hardy (the same one as the "other" one) began his musical downward spiral in the late 70's in the greater Boston area as a fan of Devo & the Doctor Demento show. He learned how to play drums, guitar, bass and also to sing and write songs.
After spending 6 years in the 434th Army Band in Fort Gordon, Georgia as a percussionist, he developed his own songwriting style - tasteful, but twisted. His influences include Robyn Hitchcock, XTC, The Police, Foo Fighters and just about anything that sounds like itself. Once out of the Army, Chris spent many years in Augusta, Georgia playing his regional cult-hit song "Cows" in various bands, including "Nervous Boy", "Sylvia's Advice" and "The Deadbolts". Why is he called the "Other" Chris Hardy? He explains, "Well, if you Google 'Chris Hardy', you get all kinds of people who aren't me, so i had to add a couple words to let everyone know that I'm not those people." Now living in North Carolina, Chris spends most of his musical life with "3 feet up", an original acoustic pop 2 piece band that he shares with his lovely wife Victoria. They have 2 CDs out currently. |
