Chapter Eleven

It was Valentines Day. The first Valentines Day ever where I actually had a boyfriend, and I couldn't even see him. Zac had just left for Oklahoma to start filming a few days ago, and I really missed him. Since we had met, we had been pretty much inseperable, and I had become quite used to (and partial) to him always being around.

They say that time away from each other is good for any relationship, and really, whoever they were, were probably right. It couldn't be good to be with anybody all the time. Reguardless of that fact, I really did want to be with Zac as much as possible.

Don't get me wrong. I was an independant girl and I could deal with Zac being away. It wasn't like a piece of my heart had been tragically torn away from me, and I could not possibly go on. I functioned on a daily basis just fine, and I didn't spend my evenings in bed, pigging out on ice cream. I just missed him, plain and simple. Not only that, but I didn't really have any friends, so I found myself kind of lonely sometimes. My new kitty Pippi did help, but sometimes I craved adult conversation.

It was at about this time, that I decided to give Amy a call. Why not? It was worth a shot. After a quick phone conversation, we decided to meet up, grab a bite to eat, and then catch a movie.

"So, do you miss him?" Amy asked through a bite of her burger. We sat in McDonalds, discussing everything known to man. "I mean, it must suck, having your boyfriend be away for Valentines."

"I guess so. I definitly miss him. Honestly though, I'm not really a huge sucker for the holidays, so I'm not too upset about the Valentines thing. Although, I was kind of excited about actually having a boyfriend this year."

She laughed. "Well, you're one step ahead of me there. I haven't been on a date in like, a year."

"Until I met Zac, it had been well over a year for me. I never met anyone in Maine that I liked. Well, hardly anyone."

"How did you meet him, anyway?"

"At the beach, with my old friend Ashleigh. It was only a few days after I moved here, actually. I didn't even know who he was at first."

"Seriously? Oh my god, I love him!" She replied, excited.

I couldn't help but laugh at her. "Oh yeah?"

"Really! He's so cute! And I love his movies. I used to love Summerland."

We chatted some more before heading to the theater, where we ended up watching the newest horror film. When it was over, people poured into the fresh air, discussing what they thought of it.

"Oh my god, it was so gross!" Amy shouted.

"You think so? I really liked it."

"You're sick!" She replied.

Just then, my cell rang. "Hello?"

"Hey Chlo! I've been trying to call you for a few hours. Where have ya been?"

"Sorry Zac!" I said. I could see Amy's eyes light up when I said his name. "I was at the movies, so I had my cell off."

"Oh. Okay. You went to the movies alone?"

"No, I went with this girl I met a while ago, Amy. Here, say hi to her."

I stuck my cell phone in Amy's face, and she got all flustered. I giggled. "Uh...Hi Zac. My name's Amy. Um...I love you!" Was all she could manage to spit out. I pulled the phone away, laughing hysterically. "That was so not funny!" She whispered so Zac could not hear.

"So, what's up?" I asked Zac, putting the phone back up to my ear.

"I just wanted to say happy Valentines Day. I'm so sorry I can't be there with you babe."

"It's okay. I miss you though."

"I miss you too. A lot."

"How is filming going?"

"Great! I really love this script, so I can't wait to see what it will be like, once everything is finished."

"Neither can I!" I replied.

"Anyway, I guess I have to go. I'll call you tomorrow. Have a good night, kay?"

"I will. You too."

"I love you." He said softly.

"I love you too, Zac." I replied, flipping the phone shut.

"Aww," Amy gushed. "You guys are so cute! But I seriously can not believe you just did that to me! I didn't know what to say to him!"

"Hi Zac...uh...uh...I love you!" I mocked.

"Shut up!" Amy said with a laugh, pushing me gently.

An entire month had gone by. Amy and I had been hanging out a lot, and we were having fun together, but I missed Zac. I lay there in bed that particular night, thinking about how I had lived in this house for a month, but had only spent one night with Zac in it. The point was to move in with him, and I couldn't wait until he was back so we could do just that. Live together.

I was almost dozing off, my thoughts sending me into a deep sleep, when suddenly, a noise from downstairs caused me to spring awake.

"Pippi?" I said groggily. I saw her laying on the edge of the bed. It wasn't her that I heard.

I sat there for a second, unsure of what to do. More noise came from downstairs. I glanced at the clock. 12:45 pm. Quickly, I hopped out of bed, quietly stepping into the hallway. I peeked around the corner. Nothing there. I headed for the stairs and tip toed down them. More noise was coming from the kitchen. I grabbed the closest thing to me for protection. It was shoe. Don't ask me how that would protect me in any way possible. Heading for the kitchen, my heart was beating fast. Just then, the door flew open, and someone crashed right into me.

"Chloe!" Zac yelled, startled. He was holding a sandwich.

"Oh my god, Zac!" I jumped up, wrapping my legs around his waist, and my arms around his shoulders. He held me tight and kissed me.

"Did I wake you up?"

"Zac, what are you doing here?" I asked, ignoring his question.

"Well, I have two days off. So I got a flight in when I was finished for the day." He explained.

"You came all the way back, just for two days?" I asked.

"Yeah. I really missed you." He said, kissing me again.

"I missed you too. So much. It's been a month!"

"I know. I think you got a little taller." Zac joked, patting the top of my head.

"Ha ha. Very funny." I knew he was making a crack at the fact that I was so short.

"Chloe, why are you holding a shoe?"

I looked down at my hand and began to laugh. "Long story."

***

It was three in the morning. Zac and I had been cuddeling on the bed, talking, kissing, and catching up. It felt so good to be with him again, even if it was only going to be for two days. I knew I missed him, but until seeing him, I never really realized just how much.

"I still can't believe you came all the way back here to see me." I said, running my hand down his chest.

"Well, I love you."

He leaned toward me and kissed me softly, his hand on my cheek. I put my hand on the back of his head as he climbed on top of me and began to kiss me harder and more passionately. My hand ran down his bare back. His hand crept up my shirt, his fingers running across the skin on my stomach. Slowly, he pulled the shirt over my head. Since I was only wearing a t-shirt and panties to begin with, I was left in just my panties. He stared at my naked chest for a moment, then reached down, pulling off my underwear. I did the same to him. We were left fully naked under the sheets. His skin felt smooth against my own. He looked down at me again.

"You're so beautiful...." he whispered, then leaned down to kiss me again.

I smiled, then ran my fingers through his hair. He looked me in the eyes for what seemed like an eternity. It almost seemed like he was trying to look into my soul, to read my mind. I pulled his face toward mine and kissed his lips, cheek, then neck.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" He asked me in between kisses.

"Yeah." I replied.
