Egyptian teachers and tutors thought the only way someone could learn was using violence. Slow students were brutally beaten until perfection was achieved. Students spent almost the entire day in yoga position practicing, writing texts from the Book of the Dead over and over again. Scribes had authority over other social classes and had a high oportunity of success working in government and religion posts. Every scribe generally had a specialty like: Pharaoh's Scribe, Tax Scribe, Scribe of the Granary, Scribe of Osiri's Temple, etc. |
