Constructed over 4,500 years ago. Comissioned by Keops, Kefren and Micerino. The largest one is that of Keops, it reaches 450 feet tall and it's base covers 13 acres. This pyramid used an aproximate two million blocks weighing up to two tons. Most of these blocks were made out of limestone. The smallest of the pyramids belonged to Micerino. Near this monument there are three unfinished small pyramids probably intended for the inmediate family members of the three related pharaohs. Their mummies have not survived up to this day due to tomb raiders. Although the pyramids have steep and false passage ways, traps and secret entrances robbers have managed to break in and find the burial chamber in the middle of the dark. A record found in Egypt tells us how the purchase of food for the workers constructing the Great Pyramid ascended to 1,600 silver talents, including garlic, onions, dates and everyday products needed for them. The Gizah Pyramids are catalogued under the seven wonders of the world and still survive practically intact. Rulers in Egypt made these exagerations with the purpose to be remember and as we can observe, it really worked.
