By Jean Van Leeuwen

Sam Slayton, a 6th grader is fond of writing down her thoughts, feelings and anything she has to say. She'd write to her friends when she wants to ask or say something. She also writes to her mom about her feelings of disappointment towards her mother.

Sam thinks that her mom favored Bradley, her older and only sibling over her. She thinks that her mom embarrasses her that her mom is not the mom she wanted. She wants her mom to be what she's not, to be the mom she wanted. Her mom tried but it's not just working. 1
