FUSHIGI YUUGI
| Summary | The story starts out in Tokyo, where Yuuki Miaka is a lazy, gluttonous high school student who comes across a mysterious book. Upon opening this, she and her best friend Hongo Yui are sucked into the Universe of the Four Gods. Miaka becomes the priestess of Suzaku, whose country is fighting a war against Seiryuu and his country Kutou. She must gather the seven seishi and summon Suzaku to have three wishes granted. But not everything is so easy- Yui eventually becomes the priestess of Seiryuu, and is convinced that Miaka has betrayed her. Genre: shoujo/romance |
| Plot | A bit predictable and stupid as far as the idea of gathering seven seishi. But other events, which are spoilers, are not so obvious. |
| Characters | The characters are a bit cliche- the perfect boyfriend, the rude bandit who's good deep down, the really evil guy, etc. But Miaka is just like me so that's a plus ^_^ |
| Humor | Filled with humor, especially at the beginning of the series when Miaka is eating something every 5 minutes, hehe ^_^ |
| Animation | It's Watase Yuu. Of course the animation is good. |
| Music | Not a single piece is played where it shouldn't be. Having the same opening and closing songs for 52 episodes gets kind of old, though. |
| Japanese voices and subtitles | Perfect job- not once did I get annoyed by the voices or the subs |
| Dubbed voices | I didn't watch this dubbed. |
| Bishounen factor | There are so many Fushigi Yuugi guys that I don't know how you could not like at least one of them. |
| Cutesy factor | Miaka has the most adorable personality! (Of course! I told you she's like me! Hehe! Except less arrogant...) Mitsukake has a cat, too |
