Yaone ~ Saiyuki
About the Costume
This costume gave me lots of experiance with plyers and bolt cutters. ~.~ I had two sets of chains I worked with one was previously a choke chain collar from the pet store which I cut into two seperate sections to attach to the top. The other was a heavy duty chain bought from the hardware store, which was also cut into two seperate pieces, one for each side of the body. The pants were made with thigh high stocking that I hand sewed to a pair of bike shorts. The heavy duty chains were attached to the reienforced corners of the green coat and then were hand sewn to the bike shorts. The shoes were originally a pair of white keds, which I made boot covers for. I attatched them to the shoes with a staple gun. I used my own hair for this because it was the right lenght, and in the manga her hair is black instead of purple. For the spear I bought a wood pole and stained it and topped it with a spear point I bought at the renfaire. The spear was definitely the most expensive part of the costume.
